Prince William has given Kate Middleton the 18 Carat Sapphire Stone surrounded by Diamonds that Prince Charles purchased from Garrard for his engagement to William’s mother, Princess Diana. Sapphires signify loyalty, so we think they are a superior choice for an engagement ring.

@TaraShields, subject of The Queen and fellow Royal Enthusiast just messaged me that William gave her this ring so that his late mother could be a part of their lives together.
